Cool Beneath the Chaos is an original, one-of-a-kind artwork exploring the calm that exists beneath life’s constant motion. Brilliant layers of acrylic paint are sealed beneath four hand-poured layers of crystal-clear resin, creating extraordinary depth, luminosity, and a stunning glass-like finish that changes beautifully as light moves across its surface.

The artwork is mounted on a handcrafted Shou Sugi Ban wood panel. This centuries-old Japanese technique involves carefully charring, brushing, and finishing the wood to reveal and celebrate its natural grain. The dramatic burned wood border becomes part of the artwork itself, symbolizing transformation, resilience, and beauty born through fire.

Adding another layer of meaning, portions of this painting were created in collaboration with my grandson, Briggs Bergerson. His brushwork is forever part of this original piece, making it not only a work of art but also a family legacy shared across generations.

The painting is finished with four hand-poured layers of resin, creating remarkable depth and a luminous finish. Because of this handcrafted process, small resin drips are visible along portions of the back edge. These are a natural result of the resin application and are not visible from the front when the artwork is displayed. Photos of the back are included to accurately represent the handcrafted nature of this original artwork.

Shipping is not available in order to preserve the integrity of the resin finish and ensure the artwork arrives safely.
